CAVALLOTTO BAROLO BRICCO BOSCHIS 2000 S$85.00
One of the finest, yet, low-keyed "traditional" estates in Piemonte, come this precise Barolo from an excellent vintage. The estate is, surprisingly, managed by siblings Laura (marketing), Alfio (winemaking) and Guiseppe (viticulture), whose average age is just ~35 years. Aged in Slovenian oak casks of 30hl & 50hl, this wine shows no obvious oak influences despite its relative young age. Ready to drink now but with cellaring potential of up to 15 years.
(91-points Wine Spectator) "The 2000 Cavallotto Barolo Bricco Boschis has very pretty aromas of plum, rose petal and cedar; full-bodied; soft tannins and plenty of friendly fruit; outstanding".
