The taxis of Verona are all dressed up for Vinitaly.
The young of Verona enjoying a lovely Spring afternoon at Piazza Bra, fronting the Roman Arena. Gelato or Italian ice-cream is a favourite of both young & old.
Italian elegance at this shop selling ladies blouses. Small boutique shops line the Via Manzzini, a pedestrian street right in the center of Verona.
Piazza de Erbe or the Park of Herbs, is where stalls are set up selling all kinds of fresh vegetables & fruit plus fresh pizzas & tourist souveniers. Local residents actually patronise these stalls, which are not just for tourists. A grocer just 2 minutes away from Hotel Due Torri. Here you can select the finest Parma ham, salami, cheeses, fresh breads, mineral water and, of course, a range of wine. An excellent stop to stock up on take-aways.
Here is a shot of the formal welcome dinner for the 90 members of the Evaluation Jury of the International Wine Competition. Several members missed it due to delayed flights from north Europe. The team of sommeliers in their traditional uniform in black with a tastevin hanging from their necks and finally the bunch of grapes lapel pin proudly designating their profession.
Three members of the Jury (from left) Angela Lloyd (South Africa), Remie Law (Singapore) and Francois Pierssens (Belgium) posing during dinner at "Il Cenacolo". Francois & Remie at the next pit stop after a first full day of tastings ..... Botega del Vini, selected among Italian outlets with the best wine selection by "Wine Spectator" magazine.
Botega del Vini's selection of Armagnacs for your enjoyment. Thinking of a vertical of Sassicias? From Botega del Vini's underground cellar, you can select your favourite vintages to be opened for your drinking pleasure.
